Walkabout: Tower Video Store

On My Walkabout:

This was Tower Video for years. Rented my first video tapes here in the mid-80s. Friends who lived in the valley, but worked in the city, rented here before driving home. I hope they beat the traffic.

Walkabout: Whiskey A Go Go

On My Walkabout:

Would you believe I've never been to the Whiskey? I've been to Duke's a lot of times, even more when it was located on Santa Monica Boulevard. But this is the place. THE DOORS movie was shot here, replicating the real life events of Jim Morrison's life. Doesn't he stand on top of a car in front of this building?

The traffic remains stinky.
Looking south on San Vicente Boulevard.
Aahs, bought dozens of cards there when I lived on this side of town. I forget what used to be there before. Does anyone remember?

Walkabout: Hustler, the Store

On My Walkabout:

Being a First Amendment fanatic, I've adored the life and work of Larry Flynt for some time now. I've never gone in this store. Walking by is the closest I've gotten. There's wasn't anything I needed, so I kept walking.

Here are the real "hustlers," (in the Paul Newman definition).
