Tax Big Oil Rally 7/22/10 Westwood

On Thursday, July 22, 2010, Rebuild California held a rally at the Westwood Federal Building to urge Big Oil to pay their share to help communities, schools, public services and families stay afloat during this recession. Unlike other states, the Big Oil companies don't pay a penny in taxes for draining California's natural resources.

The rally began at the Federal Building in Westwood. Speakers spoke from a huge truck used as a platform. Afterwards, the supporters marched two blocks to the Occidental Petroleum Headquarters building where they chanted and dumped fake oil on the sidewalk in protest. Speakers urged Big Oil companies to pay their share. The rally concluded with thanks to the LAPD for their excellent assistance. The fake oil was cleaned up.
