For some odd reason, many people refer to this bridge as the "St. Vincent Thomas Bridge" or the "Vincent St. Thomas Bridge." In Michael Mann's film "Heat," Robert Deniro's character uses the latter error. Apparently, diehard San Pedro natives will politely chuckle behind the back of an out-of-towner who uses this terminology.
